ingredients:
- 2 cups of red lentils
- 8 cups of water
- 3 tbsp dried onion
- 2 ground garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 shredded carrots
- 2 cinnamon sticks (to be removed before blending the mixture)
- 2 vegetable broth cubes
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp ground chili
- 1/2 shaereya (tiny vermicelli pasta) (optional)
- 4 tbsp oil
steps:
- add all the ingredients except for the shaereya and oil to the pot & let it cook for 30 minutes on boiling water
- let it cool down then put it in the blender on high speed for about a minute
- in the empty pot, put the oil and the shaereyya, stir fry it until it turns brown
- pour the blended mixture on it, leave it to boil again for about 15 minutes
- serve
