tools:

  • 1 mid-size pot
  • blender
  • storage box

ingredients:

  • 2 cups of red lentils
  • 8 cups of water
  • 3 tbsp dried onion
  • 2 ground garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 shredded carrots
  • 2 cinnamon sticks (to be removed before blending the mixture)
  • 2 vegetable broth cubes
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground chili
  • 1/2 shaereya (tiny vermicelli pasta) (optional)
  • 4 tbsp oil

steps:

  • add all the ingredients except for the shaereya and oil to the pot & let it cook for 30 minutes on boiling water
  • let it cool down then put it in the blender on high speed for about a minute
  • in the empty pot, put the oil and the shaereyya, stir fry it until it turns brown
  • pour the blended mixture on it, leave it to boil again for about 15 minutes
  • serve
